New in the shop

We have an abundance of new cheeses. To start with we have, after a very long time, acquired some
Drunken Pecorino. This is a 9 month old cheese soaked in red wine - its like eating a Cape wine master!
The drunken pecorino is a sharp cheese as would be expected from a pecorino, but the
red wine that it has spent a considerable amount of its life in,
has given it a truly unique flavor and a rather interesting marbled appearance.

We now have an extended range of Indezi River Cheese including St Paulin which is a mild cheese
encrusted in a distinctive red wax. Their Amabuto (which when translated
means warrior) is a South African twist on a traditional German Tilsiter and really
is worth a try. We are also stocking their very reasonably priced exquisite goat chevre - plain and
herb varieties.

We now have cheeses from River Glen farm in Underberg. This include their mild
but robust Underberger. It has a unmistakable smokey taste yet still remains
a very complexly flavoured cheese. We also have their Olive, Herb and Italiano
flavored cheeses.

Finally on the cheese front we now have Belnori cheese, which is a goat farm in Gauteng.
They produce some of South Africa\'s most
\'sui generis\' cheeses with names such as
Copper Queen, Gypsy King and Phantom Forest. They truly are one of SA\'s
most innovative goats milk farms.

As if that isn\'t enough we also have just got some very unusual pickles and
preserves from Paradise Preserves. These include a melon preserve, a mango
pickle and a beetroot pickle.

Come in and try some of South Africa\'s most unique products.
